FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Still Life - Tasteful Tea, 1897
EDITORS COMMENTS
by Albert Anker is a captivating oil painting that beautifully captures the essence of a serene tea time in the late 19th century. The artist's attention to detail and mastery of light and shadow are evident in this close-up depiction of a table adorned with an exquisite tea set. Against a vibrant red background, Anker skillfully arranges a large group of objects including cups, saucers, teapots, milk jugs, sugar cubes, biscuits, and delicate tableware. The soft furnishings and intricately designed tablecloth add an air of elegance to the scene. The absence of people allows us to focus solely on the arrangement itself - every element meticulously placed with precision. The warm tones and inviting atmosphere evoke feelings of comfort and relaxation as we imagine ourselves indulging in this tasteful tea experience. Anker's Swiss heritage shines through his meticulous brushwork and attention to detail. His ability to capture everyday moments like this still life elevates them into works of art that transcend time. This stunning artwork invites us into a world where we can appreciate not only the beauty found in simple pleasures but also the skillful craftsmanship behind it all. "Still Life: Tasteful Tea" serves as both an homage to traditional kitchenware from the 19th century and a timeless reminder to savor life's small joys over a cuppa.
