31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the iconic "24-Cent Signing of the Declaration of Independence block of four" postage stamp from 1869. Created by the American School in the 19th century, this historical artifact is now housed in the National Postal Museum at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, USA. What makes this particular stamp so intriguing is a printing error that occurred during its production - the centers were inverted. This mistake adds an extra layer of uniqueness and rarity to an already significant piece of philatelic history. The image depicts a close-up view of this remarkable postage stamp, highlighting its intricate details and vibrant colors. The upside-down centers immediately catch one's attention, serving as a constant reminder of human fallibility even in important moments like signing such a pivotal document. As we gaze upon this photograph, we are transported back to a time when mail served as a crucial means of communication across America. The 24-cent denomination symbolizes both value and importance, representing not only monetary worth but also cultural significance. Through this image, we are reminded of our nation's rich history and how it continues to shape our present-day society. It serves as a testament to America's commitment to freedom and independence while acknowledging that mistakes can sometimes lead us down unexpected paths.
