FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The Gipsy Fair, 1889
EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating oil painting by Spanish artist Baldomero Gallofre Ximenis. This exquisite artwork, measuring 42x68 cm, depicts a bustling fair set against the backdrop of a majestic castle and fortress. Painted in the late nineteenth century, it offers us a glimpse into the vibrant atmosphere of urban life during that time. In this scene, we see a large group of people gathered at the fairgrounds, eagerly engaging with various activities and spectacles. The gypsies play an integral role in this lively event as they entertain the crowd with their music and dance performances. Competitors on horseback showcase their equestrian skills while spectators watch attentively. Galofre's attention to detail is evident in his meticulous brushwork which brings each character to life. The composition beautifully captures both the natural space surrounding the town and the fortification of the citadel towering above. As we observe this masterpiece from late nineteenth-century European art, we are transported back in time to witness an era filled with excitement and entertainment. Through Gallofre's skillful portrayal of human interaction and animal presence, he invites us to become partakers in this joyous occasion. This remarkable print allows us to appreciate Gallofre's artistic prowess while also immersing ourselves in history through its rich narrative. It serves as a testament to his contribution to Spanish art during that period and continues to captivate viewers even today.
