Doublet And Hose Jacobean Lace Collar Red Hair Redhead Tall Traditional Costume

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This portrait, titled "Portrait of a Gentleman, Possibly a Member of the Poulett Family" transports us back to the late 1620s. Painted by Gilbert Jackson, a British artist known for his exquisite attention to detail, this oil on canvas print measures an impressive 203.3x114.2 cm. The subject of this portrait is a distinguished gentleman whose identity remains uncertain but is believed to be part of the esteemed Poulett family. Standing tall and proud in traditional Jacobean attire, he exudes an air of elegance and refinement. Every element in this painting tells a story about the fashion and style prevalent during that era. From his ornate sword hanging at his side to his intricately decorated shoes, every detail has been meticulously captured by Jackson's skilled brushstrokes. The gentleman's red hair stands out against the backdrop as it cascades down from beneath his lace collar. His doublet and hose are richly adorned with intricate patterns that reflect both wealth and taste. As we gaze upon this full-length portrait, we can't help but marvel at how art has preserved not only the physical appearance but also the essence of individuals who lived centuries ago. This remarkable piece now resides in a private collection but continues to captivate viewers with its timeless beauty.
