17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases Bartolome Esteban Murillo's masterpiece, "St. John the Baptist as a Child" painted around 1665. The oil on canvas artwork measures an impressive 121x99 cm and is currently housed in the prestigious Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain. Murillo, a renowned Spanish artist of the 17th century, beautifully captures the innocence and purity of St. John as a young boy. In this enchanting portrayal, St. John stands before us with an air of tranquility and grace. His youthful face radiates serenity while his eyes exude wisdom beyond his years. Clad in simple garments, he holds a staff adorned with leaves and rests his hand gently on a sheep symbolizing his future role as the "Lamb of God". Murillo's meticulous attention to detail is evident in every brushstroke; from the delicate folds of fabric to the soft texture of St. John's hair cascading down his shoulders. The warm hues and subtle play of light create an ethereal atmosphere that transports viewers into this sacred moment. As we gaze upon this timeless masterpiece, we are reminded not only of Murillo's artistic genius but also of St. John's significance within Christian tradition - heralding Christ’s coming through baptism and preparing hearts for repentance. This remarkable print allows art enthusiasts worldwide to appreciate Murillo's mastery from their own homes while honoring one of Christianity’s most revered figures – Saint John the Baptist as a child.
