17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the essence of South America's rich history and architectural beauty. Taken in Alcantara, Brazil, it offers a mesmerizing view through a ruined door of the Nossa Senhora do Carmo church in Praca da Matriz. The image transports us to a bygone era, showcasing the remnants of colonial Portuguese influence on this enchanting town. The baroque and rococo elements are evident in the intricate details adorning the church facade, while traditional azulejo tiles add vibrant bursts of color to the scene. As we peer through the decaying doorway, our imagination runs wild with stories from centuries past. We can almost hear echoes of prayers whispered within these walls and envision worshipers seeking solace amidst their daily struggles. Beyond its historical significance, Alcantara is also home to modern marvels such as the Brazilian Space Agency and Centro de Lancamento de Alcantara. This juxtaposition between old-world charm and cutting-edge technology adds an intriguing layer to this photograph. With its pillory standing tall in the plaza nearby, this image encapsulates both cultural heritage and progress. It serves as a reminder that even amid ruins, there is resilience and hope for brighter futures. ARO's skillful composition allows us to appreciate South America's unique blend of Latin American influences against a backdrop of architectural splendor. This print truly captures a moment frozen in time – an invitation for viewers to delve into Brazil's fascinating history and immerse themselves in its timeless beauty.
