17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a mesmerizing moment from history - the Grand Carousel given by Louis XIV in front of the Tuileries, Paris, France on 5th June 1662. The occasion was none other than the joyous celebration of the birth of the Dauphin, heir to the French throne. In this particular frame, we witness two talented musicians who are an integral part of this grand spectacle. On horseback, dressed in elaborate costumes that reflect their Indian heritage, these performers exude both grace and power. The Indian drummer skillfully beats his drum with precision and rhythm while seated atop his majestic steed. Beside him stands a trumpeter whose melodious notes fill the air with enchantment. The attention to detail is remarkable as every element within this illustration transports us back to seventeenth-century France. From the ornate saddles adorning their horses to their exquisite attire, it is evident that no expense was spared for this extravagant event. As we gaze upon this historical snapshot frozen in time, we can almost hear the resounding music echoing through Parisian streets as riders gallop past in a magnificent cavalcade. This image serves as a testament not only to Louis XIV's opulence but also to his appreciation for diverse cultures and artistic expression. Published in L Illustration magazine in 1936, this photograph continues to captivate viewers even today with its rich historical significance and timeless beauty.
