Count Plate Spanish Volunteers Cataluna Reus
17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this engraving, history comes alive as we witness a significant moment in time. The Count of Reus, a prominent Spanish figure, stands tall and regal at the center of the scene. It is February 3rd, 1860, and he is receiving the brave volunteers from Cataluna who have journeyed to Africa. The horizontal composition allows us to take in every detail of this remarkable illustration by Ken Welsh. The precision of his work transports us back to that very day when alliances were forged and destinies intertwined. As our eyes explore the plate, we see the determination etched on each volunteer's face. They stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their leader, ready to embark on an adventure into unknown territories. Their commitment to a cause greater than themselves shines through even in this monochromatic representation. This print serves as a testament to both courage and unity - qualities that transcend time itself. It reminds us of the power that lies within individuals coming together for a common purpose. Ken Welsh's artistic prowess breathes life into historical events once more. Through his skillful handiwork, we are transported back in time to witness firsthand an extraordinary moment between the Count of Reus and these valiant volunteers from Cataluna. Let this evocative image serve as a reminder that history has shaped our present reality - it is up to us now to honor those who came before us by continuing their legacy of bravery and unity.
