SS Ayrfield Shipwreck Forest

From cargo freighter to forest, the SS Ayrfield is a beautifully broken-down wreck, forever locked in Australia?s Homebush Bay. The SS Ayrfield, formally called the Corrimal, is a 1, 140-tonne steam collier ship, which ran coal between Newcastle and Sydney during the 20th Century, before being reassigned to assist as a transport ship for Australia during World War II (WWII)

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the mesmerizing sight of the SS Ayrfield Shipwreck Forest, a hauntingly beautiful wreckage that now rests eternally in Australia's Homebush Bay. Once a mighty cargo freighter, this magnificent vessel has transformed into an enchanting forest, showcasing nature's resilience amidst human intervention. Originally known as the Corrimal, this 1,140-tonne steam collier ship played a vital role in transporting coal between Newcastle and Sydney during the 20th Century. However, its destiny took an unexpected turn when it was repurposed to serve as a transport ship for Australia during World War II. Now frozen in time and reclaimed by nature's relentless embrace, the SS Ayrfield stands as a poignant reminder of history's enduring presence. The rusted hull is adorned with lush greenery sprouting from every crevice and corner, creating an ethereal scene that juxtaposes man-made decay with Mother Nature's tenacity. Noval Nugraha Photography skillfully captures this evocative image, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in the melancholic beauty of this forgotten relic. With all rights reserved to Noval Nugraha Photography, we are privileged to witness such artistry that encapsulates both fragility and strength within one frame. The SS Ayrfield Shipwreck Forest serves as a testament to humanity's impact on our environment while simultaneously showcasing nature's ability to reclaim what was once lost. This photograph invites us into a world where past meets
