V430 troop carrier (Bulldog)

The first delivery of the upgraded FV430 Mk3 Bulldog vehicles arrived in Iraq just before Christmas 2006 with the RGJ Battalion based at Basra Palace the first to use them on operations.
Mechanised infantry use the Bulldog APC as a form of protected mobility to move around the battlefield. Bulldog offers protection against small arms and artillery fire and provides good strategic and cross-country mobility.
For counter-insurgency operations the up-armoured FV430 provides a similar level of protection to Warrior and the vehicle is able to carry out many of the same tasks as Warrior, thereby relieving the pressure on heavily committed Warrior vehicles in armoured infantry battlegroups

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the V430 troop carrier, also known as the Bulldog, in action during its first deployment in Iraq just before Christmas 2006. The RGJ Battalion stationed at Basra Palace were the fortunate ones to utilize these upgraded FV430 Mk3 Bulldog vehicles for their operations. Mechanised infantry heavily rely on the Bulldog APC as a means of protected mobility across the battlefield. With its ability to withstand small arms and artillery fire, this formidable vehicle offers exceptional strategic and cross-country mobility. In particular, for counter-insurgency missions, the up-armoured FV430 provides a level of protection similar to that of Warrior vehicles. This enables it to perform many tasks typically assigned to Warriors, thus alleviating pressure on heavily committed armoured infantry battlegroups. The photograph showcases this impressive armoured fighting vehicle amidst an urban setting with soldiers patrolling through city streets in Iraq. Its presence exudes strength and resilience while serving as a symbol of security for those who operate within it. Cpl Andy Benson (RAF) skillfully captured this momentous image that highlights not only the capabilities but also the significance of such combat vehicles in modern warfare.
