Altar Furnishings For Sacred Spaces Niche Statuelate Renaissance

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph captures the exquisite beauty of the Altar Piccolomini, a masterpiece crafted by the skilled hands of Andrea Bregno. Standing proudly in the left aisle of the Duomo, also known as the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, in Siena, Italy, this marble altar is a testament to late Renaissance artistry. The Altar Piccolomini showcases a harmonious blend of Renaissance and Renaissance-Baroque styles, reflecting Europe's artistic evolution during the first and second millenniums. Its intricate details and meticulous craftsmanship transport viewers back to 1503 when it was created by Bregno himself. Every element within this sacred space has been carefully designed to inspire awe and reverence. The altar's niche serves as an ornate backdrop for religious rituals while its furnishings exude elegance and grandeur. This architectural marvel stands as a symbol of devotion and faith. Anderson's skillful photography transports us back in time to 1921 when this image was captured. Through his lens, we are able to appreciate every curve and contour that Bregno so meticulously sculpted into his work. The play between light and shadow adds depth to each delicate feature, emphasizing their timeless beauty. As we gaze upon this remarkable piece of art captured on film by Anderson from Alinari, we are reminded not only of its historical significance but also its enduring impact on our collective cultural heritage. It is through such photographs that we can continue to appreciate these masterpieces long after they were created - bridging gaps between centuries past with our present-day admiration for human creativity at its finest.
