EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the breathtaking beauty of the Khumbu icefall from Everest Base Camp in Nepal's Solukhumbu District. Located within the magnificent Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this remote and traditionally rich region is nestled amidst the majestic Himalayas. The image showcases a stunning blend of colors, with the icy blue tones of the glacier contrasting against the vibrant prayer flags that adorn its surroundings. The topography of this area is truly awe-inspiring, with extreme terrain stretching as far as the eye can see. In this snapshot taken during daylight hours, there is an overwhelming sense of tranquility and serenity. Notably absent are any human figures, emphasizing both the isolation and grandeur of this natural wonder.
