Poster Prints are of comparable archival quality to our Photographic prints, they are simply printed on thinner Poster Paper. EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph taken by Stephen Pond on July 16,2009, Mick McCarthy, the charismatic manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, is seen in deep concentration during a friendly match against Hereford United. The pre-season encounter took place at Edgar Street, Hereford, as McCarthy prepared his Wolves squad for the upcoming season in the Championship. McCarthy, a former Republic of Ireland international and manager, had taken the helm at Molineux in November 2006, and this was his third pre-season with the club. His tenure had already seen some significant successes, including promotion to the Championship in the 2008-09 season. The image captures McCarthy's intense focus and determination as he observes the action on the pitch. Surrounded by his coaching staff, he is fully immersed in the game, analyzing every move and strategizing for the next play. The players on the field, a mix of established stars and promising youngsters, seem to feed off McCarthy's energy and drive, giving their all in this warm-up fixture. The friendly match against Hereford United was an opportunity for McCarthy and his team to assess individual performances, fine-tune tactics, and build team morale before the competitive season began. The atmosphere at Edgar Street was electric, with fans from both sides eager to catch a glimpse of their favorite players and get a feel for the upcoming campaign. This photograph is a testament to the passion and dedication that Mick McCarthy brought to Wolverhampton Wanderers as manager, both on and off the pitch. It encapsulates the excitement and anticipation of a new season and the importance of hard work and preparation in achieving success.
