EDITORS COMMENTS
This artwork by Mark Stevenson takes us back in time to the Jurassic Period, where we witness a thrilling scene of Carnivorous Juravenators on the hunt. In this digitally generated image, four Juravenators can be seen perched on top of a tree trunk, their sharp eyes scanning the terrain for prey. These small bipedal creatures belong to the tyrannosaurid family and are known for their predatory nature. The artist's attention to detail is evident as he portrays these ancient creatures amidst a lush landscape filled with ferns, trees, and other vegetation. The vibrant colors bring this prehistoric era to life, allowing us to imagine what it was like when dinosaurs roamed freely in the wild. As we observe these primitive carnivores chasing their quarry through this primeval environment, we cannot help but marvel at the intricate web of evolution that led to our present-day wildlife. This artwork not only showcases the beauty of these extinct species but also serves as a reminder of our planet's rich history. Stevenson's illustration transports us into an untamed world where maniraptoran dinosaurs coexisted with early birds such as Archaeopteryx lithographica and pterosaurs. It sparks our curiosity about Earth's past and encourages us to appreciate its diverse ecosystems today.
