Poster Prints are of comparable archival quality to our Photographic prints, they are simply printed on thinner Poster Paper. From Plantation to Peatland - A Bog-tastic Makeover in the Scottish Highlands!
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this snapshot, we witness nature's ultimate transformation as a once-thriving non-native plantation gives way to the revival of a precious bog peatland. Mark Hamblin's lens captures the remarkable efforts of habitat management in action, showcasing Scotland's Flow Country at its finest. With an air of excitement and anticipation, it seems like Mother Nature herself has called for a makeover party! As chainsaws hummed and trees toppled, this area underwent a stunning metamorphosis. Gone are the rows upon rows of uniform plantations; instead, what emerges is an enchanting landscape brimming with potential. The restoration project aims to breathe new life into these wetlands – vital ecosystems that support unique flora and fauna while acting as carbon sinks. It's conservation on steroids! And boy oh boy, does it look good! As sunlight filters through the gaps left by felled trees, one can almost hear cheers from mosses and lichens eagerly reclaiming their territory. This vibrant tapestry of greens promises endless possibilities for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. So here's to celebrating this magnificent feat – where deforestation takes a backseat while peatland restoration steals the show! Let us raise our glasses (filled with pure Highland spring water) to commend those dedicated souls who have turned this corner of Scotland into an ecological masterpiece. Cheers to Mark Hamblin and his 2020VISION
