Poster Prints are of comparable archival quality to our Photographic prints, they are simply printed on thinner Poster Paper. Whilst we only use Photographic Prints in our frames, you can frame Poster Prints if they are carefully supported to prevent sagging over time.

Poster prints are budget friendly enlarged prints in standard poster paper sizes (A0, A1, A2, A3 etc). EDITORS COMMENTS
In this historic photograph, Tshekedi Khama, the esteemed Chief of Bechuanaland, now known as Botswana, is captured in a rare moment of camaraderie with a young British girl during one of his visits to the United Kingdom. The image, taken between the years 1905 and 1959, portrays a significant figure in African history as he navigated the complexities of colonial rule and the evolving political landscape. Born in 1827, Tshekedi Khama was a respected leader of the Tswana people and a key figure in the resistance against British encroachment into Bechuanaland. In 1885, he signed a treaty with the British, granting them protection in exchange for the recognition of his rule. This alliance marked the beginning of a long and intricate relationship between the Tswana people and the British colonial administration. During his visits to Britain, Tshekedi Khama was received with great honor and respect. This photograph, taken during one such visit, offers a glimpse into the personal side of this influential figure. The young British girl, who is seated next to him, appears to be engrossed in conversation with the Chief, suggesting a connection that transcends the political and colonial context of their encounter. As the Chief of Bechuanaland, Tshekedi Khama played a pivotal role in shaping the future of his people and their land. His leadership and diplomacy paved the way for Botswana's eventual independence in 1966. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of a bygone era, when the paths of African leaders and European colonizers intersected, and the bonds forged between them shaped the course of history.
