This print depicts the second Grand Air Balloon of the renowned Italian aeronaut, Jean-Pierre Blanchard, flying under the name of Lunardi. The balloon, which ascended from the Artillery Ground on May 13, 1785, with Lunardi himself and Mr. Biggin as passengers, is shown here with an additional ascent on June 29, this time with Mrs. Sage from St. George's Fields as a passenger.
