Instruments Measurement Weight Weights

A2 (59.4 x 42cm) Poster Print

A2 Poster (59.4 x 42cm, 23.4" x 16.5" inches) printed on 170gsm Satin Poster Paper. Securely packaged, rolled and inserted into a strong mailing tube and shipped tracked. Poster Prints are of comparable archival quality to our Photographic prints, they are simply printed on thinner Poster Paper. Whilst we only use Photographic Prints in our frames, you can frame Poster Prints if they are carefully supported to prevent sagging over time.

Poster prints are budget friendly enlarged prints in standard poster paper sizes (A0, A1, A2, A3 etc). Whilst poster paper is sometimes thinner and less durable than our other paper types, they are still ok for framing and should last many years. Our Archival Quality Photo Prints and Fine Art Paper Prints are printed on higher quality paper and the choice of which largely depends on your budget.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: Roman Weights: A Testament to Ancient Measurement and Engineering. This image showcases a collection of Roman weights, an essential tool for trade and commerce during the Roman Empire. These weights, meticulously crafted from various materials such as terracotta, bronze, and lead, were used to ensure fair and accurate transactions in markets and workshops across the vast Roman territories. The Roman weight system was based on the libra, which equated to approximately 0.3527 kilograms. The most common weights were the uncia, equal to one twelfth of a libra, and the semuncia, equal to half an uncia. These subdivisions enabled merchants and artisans to measure and trade goods with precision. The intricate designs and decorative elements adorning these Roman weights reveal the advanced craftsmanship and artistic skills of the Roman people. Some weights were even inscribed with the name of the Roman god Saturn, who was associated with wealth and abundance, further emphasizing their importance in economic transactions. The Roman weights also serve as a testament to the empire's impressive engineering and scientific knowledge. The Roman system of measurement was highly advanced for its time and laid the foundation for the metric system used today. This collection of Roman weights offers a fascinating glimpse into the economic, scientific, and artistic achievements of ancient Rome. In conclusion, this image of Roman weights not only showcases the practical applications of measurement tools in ancient civilizations but also highlights the artistic and cultural significance of these objects. The intricate designs, historical context, and scientific importance make this collection a valuable addition to any study or display of Roman history and culture.
