Poster Prints are of comparable archival quality to our Photographic prints, they are simply printed on thinner Poster Paper. Whilst we only use Photographic Prints in our frames, you can frame Poster Prints if they are carefully supported to prevent sagging over time.

Poster prints are budget friendly enlarged prints in standard poster paper sizes (A0, A1, A2, A3 etc). Whilst poster paper is sometimes thinner and less durable than our other paper types, they are still ok for framing and should last many years. Our Archival Quality Photo Prints and Fine Art Paper Prints are printed on higher quality paper and the choice of which largely depends on your budget.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Plate 165 from William MacGillivray's Watercolour Drawings of British Animals (1831-1841) features a stunning illustration of the Black-hooded Oriole, Oriolus xanthornus. This exquisite passerine, a member of the Oriolidae family, is depicted in intricate detail, showcasing its distinctive black hood and vibrant, golden-orange plumage. The Oriole is perched gracefully on a long, slender branch, its head turned slightly to the side, revealing the intricate anatomy of its beaked mouth and expressive eyes. The Black-hooded Oriole is a native of Central and South America, and is a popular sight in tropical forests and gardens. This bird is known for its long, curved, and powerful beak, which it uses to extract insects and fruit from branches and tree trunks. The Black-hooded Oriole is a social bird, often seen in pairs or small groups, and is a beloved addition to many avian collections. MacGillivray's illustration captures the essence of this beautiful bird, providing a glimpse into the natural world of the nineteenth century. The Sauropsida, a group that includes reptiles and birds, is represented here by the avian species, and the Passeriformes order, to which the Oriole belongs, is characterized by its perching ability and three toes facing forward. This illustration is a testament to the artistry and scientific accuracy of the time, and continues to be a valuable resource for ornithological research and conservation efforts today.
