A2 (59.4 x 42cm) Poster Print

Step back in time with our stunning RMSP New York service poster print from the 1930s, featuring the iconic "O" Steamers of The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company. This beautiful vintage poster, sourced from Mary Evans Picture Library/Onslow Auctions Limited through Mary Evans Prints Online, showcases the elegance and sophistication of ocean travel during this era. Add a touch of nostalgia to your home or office with this captivating piece of maritime history.

A2 Poster (59.4 x 42cm, 23.4" x 16.5" inches) printed on 170gsm Satin Poster Paper. Securely packaged, rolled and inserted into a strong mailing tube and shipped tracked. Poster Prints are of comparable archival quality to our Photographic prints, they are simply printed on thinner Poster Paper. Whilst we only use Photographic Prints in our frames, you can frame Poster Prints if they are carefully supported to prevent sagging over time.

Poster prints are budget friendly enlarged prints in standard poster paper sizes (A0, A1, A2, A3 etc). Whilst poster paper is sometimes thinner and less durable than our other paper types, they are still ok for framing and should last many years. Our Archival Quality Photo Prints and Fine Art Paper Prints are printed on higher quality paper and the choice of which largely depends on your budget.

Estimated Image Size (if not cropped) is 36.4cm x 59.4cm (14.3" x 23.4")

Estimated Product Size is 42cm x 59.4cm (16.5" x 23.4")

These are individually made so all sizes are approximate

Artwork printed orientated as per the preview above, with portrait (vertical) orientation to match the source image.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Step aboard the grand vessels of the RMSP New York Service by the "O" Steamers, as depicted in this poster from the 1930s. The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company, based in London's EC2 district, proudly showcases its transatlantic fleet, ready to sail across the vast Atlantic Ocean towards the land of opportunity - America. The poster's design evokes a sense of adventure and excitement, with the black background accentuating the sleek silhouettes of the ships against the horizon. The galleon-like steamers, adorned with the Union Jack and the American flag, proudly display their names, "Britannic" and "Oceanic," as they cut through the waves. The ships' powerful sails billow in the wind, creating a dynamic and energetic scene. The poster's intricate details, from the intricately designed smokestacks to the realistic depiction of the ships' rigging, showcase the skill and artistry of the poster's creator. The image of the ships sailing towards the New York skyline, with the Statue of Liberty in the distance, adds a sense of anticipation and longing for the adventure that awaits on the other side of the ocean. This poster is a testament to the golden age of transatlantic travel and the romantic allure of sailing across the Atlantic, which drew millions to embark on this journey in search of new opportunities and experiences. The RMSP New York Service by the "O" Steamers represents a bygone era of travel, one that continues to captivate and inspire us today.
