This evocative portrait captures the young and passionate face of Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847), the renowned German composer, in the prime of his artistic bloom. The image, taken in 1847, just a few years before his untimely death at the age of 38, reveals a man of deep introspection and creative energy.
