This striking print captures a mounted specimen of the Cordylobia anthropophaga, more commonly known as the tumbu fly or putzi fly. Found in East and Central Africa, this parasitic arthropod is infamous for laying its eggs on damp clothing which then hatch into larvae that burrow into human skin, causing painful sores.
