Mor was a prominent figure in the world of Renaissance art, particularly in England, where he spent the latter part of his career. Born in the Netherlands, Mor received his initial artistic training in Antwerp before traveling to Italy to study under the great masters. He later settled in England, where he became a favorite of the Tudor court. Mor's works are characterized by their meticulous attention to detail and their lifelike portrayal of his subjects.
