A2 (59.4 x 42cm) Poster Print

Step back in time with our vintage-inspired Apron Housewife Poster Print from the Media Storehouse collection. This charming piece, featuring a classic image of a housewife in an apron diligently vacuuming in her den during the 1950s, is taken from the Fine Art Storehouse. Add a touch of nostalgia to your home decor with this beautifully printed and framed poster, capturing a bygone era of domestic bliss and hard work.

A2 Poster (59.4 x 42cm, 23.4" x 16.5" inches) printed on 170gsm Satin Poster Paper. Securely packaged, rolled and inserted into a strong mailing tube and shipped tracked. Poster Prints are of comparable archival quality to our Photographic prints, they are simply printed on thinner Poster Paper. Whilst we only use Photographic Prints in our frames, you can frame Poster Prints if they are carefully supported to prevent sagging over time.

Poster prints are budget friendly enlarged prints in standard poster paper sizes (A0, A1, A2, A3 etc). Whilst poster paper is sometimes thinner and less durable than our other paper types, they are still ok for framing and should last many years. Our Archival Quality Photo Prints and Fine Art Paper Prints are printed on higher quality paper and the choice of which largely depends on your budget.

Estimated Image Size (if not cropped) is 52.8cm x 42cm (20.8" x 16.5")

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph captured by George Marks in the 1950s, we are transported back to a simpler time when household chores were an integral part of a housewife's daily routine. The image showcases an apron-clad woman diligently vacuuming her den, providing us with a glimpse into the domestic life of mid-century America. The composition is beautifully framed, highlighting the meticulous attention to detail that Marks was known for. The play of light and shadow adds depth to the scene, emphasizing the cozy atmosphere within this quintessential American home. As we observe this diligent housewife going about her task with grace and poise, it becomes evident that she takes great pride in maintaining her living space. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of the societal norms prevalent during that era, where women were often expected to fulfill traditional gender roles within their homes. However, beyond its historical context lies an enduring symbol of dedication and hard work. Marks' ability to capture such everyday moments with artistic finesse elevates this image from mere documentation to fine art. It invites viewers to reflect on how our perceptions of gender roles have evolved over time while appreciating the timeless beauty found in even the most mundane aspects of life. As we gaze upon this print from Fine Art Storehouse today, it evokes nostalgia for a bygone era while celebrating both the resilience and creativity exhibited by individuals like this apron-clad housewife who played vital roles in shaping our society.
