EDITORS COMMENTS
This photo print, titled "7176910" takes us back to the 20th century in Africa. The image captures a scene of agricultural life, showcasing the deep connection between humans and animals. A shepherdess stands gracefully amidst a group of shepherds, tending to their flock with care and devotion. The setting resembles an adoration of the shepherds, reminiscent of biblical scenes from nativity stories. Cattle and oxen graze peacefully in the background, adding to the pastoral ambiance. Crafted from bronze, this metal monument serves as a reminder of colonialism's impact on African lands during that era. The architectural details surrounding the scene highlight both French influence and colonization in Africa. It symbolizes France's presence as a colonizer while also representing its overseas departments and territories. Beyond its historical significance, this photograph is a testament to the resilience and strength of African people who have long relied on agriculture for sustenance. It beautifully captures their harmonious relationship with nature and their commitment to nurturing livestock. As we gaze upon this thought-provoking artwork, let us reflect on the complex history it represents while appreciating its artistic value as an exquisite piece within Fine Art Finder's collection.
