Painted with tempera on panel, this masterpiece measures an impressive 82x245 cm and is currently housed at the Museo Nazionale di San Martino in Naples, Italy. The painting depicts a breathtaking view of Naples, specifically capturing the Aragonese fleet triumphantly returning to port on July 12th, 1465. This significant event followed their victorious defeat of the Angevin Navy at Ischia just days earlier on July 7th. The artwork was commissioned by Filippo Strozzi, a prominent Florentine banker, as part of a bed designed by Benedetto da Maiano.
