EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating engraving that offers a glimpse into an important historical event. Created by Melton Prior in 1898 for The Illustrated London News, this print captures the atmosphere and tension surrounding the German occupation of Kiao-Chau during the Boxer Rebellion. The scene depicted shows a bustling street outside the Yamen or Government House in Tsingtan.
