The Jam were an English mod revival/punk rock band during the 1970s and early 1980s, which formed in 1972 at Sheerwater Secondary School in Woking, in the county of Surrey. In their years of hit singles, from 1977, such as In The City, Going Underground, A Town Called Malice, The Eton Rifles, Down In The Tube Station at Midnight, the line up was Paul Weller, (lead singer/songwriter/guitar) Bruce Foxton on bass. Rick Buckler on drums.
