EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph portrays the charming exterior of the Hatchet pub, located in the heart of City, London. Established as an old-fashioned boozer, the Hatchet derives its name from the Hatchet Trading Company, a fur trading business that once thrived in the vicinity. The image showcases the pub's left facade, with its rustic brick walls, ornate signage, and quaint windows that seem to invite passersby for a cozy pint. The atmosphere inside is believed to be just as welcoming, offering a respite from the hustle and bustle of the City. As of July 2018, the Hatchet pub, with its address at EC4V 2BA, underwent a name change and is now known as Three Cranes. Despite the name alteration, this independently owned public house continues to uphold the rich history and character that has made it a beloved institution in the area. This photograph, taken by an unknown photographer, is a testament to the enduring charm of traditional City pubs and their ability to withstand the test of time. It is a reminder of the unique stories and history that can be found in the most unexpected places within our urban landscapes.
