EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph taken by John Isbley during the Everton vs Manchester United soccer match in the 2006-07 season, we see a heartwarming moment as Everton player Alan Ball's children, Mandy, Keely, and Jimmy, join him on the pitch before the game. Alan Ball, a former Everton player and a legend in the club's history, was making a return to Goodison Park as a manager for the first time since his retirement as a player. The occasion was a highly anticipated clash against Manchester United, one of the biggest rivals of Everton. As Ball made his way onto the pitch, he was greeted by his three proud children, who eagerly followed behind him. Dressed in their Everton jerseys, Mandy, Keely, and Jimmy looked excited and thrilled to be a part of their father's special day. The trio walked hand in hand with their father, soaking up the atmosphere of the stadium and basking in the adoration of the Everton fans. This moment captured by Isbley's camera lens is a poignant reminder of the strong bond between a father and his children, as well as the enduring love and loyalty that exists between Everton fans and their heroes. It is a snapshot of a cherished memory that will undoubtedly be treasured by the Ball family for generations to come.
