Meeting of the Lunar society at " Heathfield", the Birmingham home of James Watt. The Lunar Society was a dinner club whose members included prominent industrialists and scientists. They met regularly between 1765 and 1813 approximately to discuss new ideas and inventions. Regular attendees included Matthew Boulton, Erasmus Darwin, Thomas Day, Richard Lovell Edgeworth, Samuel Galton, James Keir, Joseph Priestley, William Small, Jonathan Stokes, James Watt, Josiah Wedgewood, John Whitehurst and William Withering
