The community has come together with a shared goal of raising £30,000 for a state-of-the-art piece of high-technology equipment that can detect early stages of this blinding disease. At the North Riding Infirmary in Middlesbrough, the campaign received an incredible boost when the Middlesbrough-Teesside Lions Club presented a generous cheque worth £250. This act of kindness and support demonstrates the power and compassion within our society. Seated at the center is Mr. Gordon Maclure, a consultant ophthalmologist who will play a pivotal role in utilizing this advanced technology to diagnose patients at an early stage.
