Gerard Ter Borch, a Dutch painter born in Zwolle in 1617, is considered one of the greatest masters of the Dutch Golden Age. Known for his meticulously detailed and elegant paintings, Ter Borch excelled in the genres of portraiture and genre scenes. This exquisite print showcases one of Ter Borch's most famous works, "The Letter," painted around 1654. The painting depicts a young woman, engrossed in reading an elegant letter, while her maid looks on with a curious expression.
