The Duke, who was the elder son of King Edward VII, died tragically young at the age of 28 due to pneumonia. Born on January 8, 1864, Albert Victor was the eldest son of the Prince of Wales and Princess Alexandra of Denmark. He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, and served in the Royal Navy before taking on his duties as Duke of Clarence and Avondale. The Duke's life was marked by scandal and intrigue. He was a suspect in the Jack the Ripper case, as rumors circulated that he had an affair with one of the victims, Annie Chapman. However, these allegations were never proven. Despite these rumors, Albert Victor was a popular figure among the British people. He was known for his charisma, his love of hunting, and his military prowess. In this photograph, he is seen wearing the uniform of the Royal Horse Guards, with its distinctive gold trim, which added to his regal and imposing appearance.
