EDITORS COMMENTS
Oops! Looks like these little Olive ridley sea turtle hatchlings had a surprise visit from an adventurous doggo at Ostional beach in Costa Rica. These tiny cuties were supposed to be safely buried and protected under 40 cm of warm sand, but it seems this curious canine couldn't resist digging them out for a playdate! In this heartwarming yet hilarious moment captured by Solvin Zankl, we witness the unexpected friendship between two very different species. The wide-eyed expressions on both the hatchlings and the mischievous pup's face tell us that they are equally surprised by their encounter. While it may not have been part of their original plan, these brave little turtles seem to take it all in stride. With their endangered status, every step towards survival counts, even if it means facing some unexpected obstacles along the way. Let's hope that after this unplanned adventure, these determined hatchlings find their way back to where they belong – nestled safely beneath layers of sand – ready to embark on their journey into the big blue ocean. And maybe next time, our furry friend can lend a paw in protecting rather than disrupting this precious new life!
