Annie Kenney: A Suffragette's Unwavering Determination (1909) Annie Kenney (1879-1953), a working-class woman from Oldham, England, emerged as a prominent figure in the British Suffragette movement in the early 20th century. Born into poverty, Annie's life was transformed when she attended a lecture by Emmeline Pankhurst, the founder of the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU).
