Offside Sports Photography
An independent sports photo archive, shooting on film until 2004.
Offside Sports Photography are pleased to offer high quality prints from our photographic library. The Offside archive documents over 70 years of global sporting events, with a particular focus on football.
In our print collection, you will find captivating images from historical World Cup Finals, European competitions and English domestic leagues.
Amongst the featured work is the collection by Gerry Cranham, an innovator of British sports photography, best known for capturing the intimacy, humanity and thrill of sport while introducing many techniques still popular in modern practice. Cranham was one the first photographers to have a solo exhibition at the V&A, second only to Henri Cartier-Bresson. His photos were amongst the first to be displayed in colour along the museum halls and his work still remains in their archives to this day.
Within the collection, you will find prints of notable sporting personalities such as Arthur Ashe, Billie Jean King, Graham Hill, Bobby Charlton and Muhammad Ali and iconic historical moments including the 1966 World Cup Final.
