EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the corner view of the Park Road Hotel in North Finchley, London, as it looked in the 1920s. The historic pub, located at 126-128 Park Road (N12 0BP), was originally built and operated by the Charrington and Company Limited. As the back of the print reveals, the Trading Record for the Park Road Hotel dates back to 1965. The 1920s were a significant era for the pub, as it underwent a rebuild and was renamed Tally Ho. The term "Tally Ho" was a popular cry used during hunting, adding to the pub's charm and character. The building's red brick facade, adorned with ornate detailing and large windows, exudes a sense of warmth and inviting hospitality. The Park Road Hotel was more than just a place to quench one's thirst. It was a community hub where locals gathered to socialize, enjoy a hearty meal, and celebrate special occasions. The pub's rich history and enduring appeal have made it a beloved institution in North Finchley for generations. Today, the Park Road Hotel continues to serve its patrons, offering a welcoming atmosphere and a nod to its storied past. This photograph is a fascinating glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a bygone era and reminding us of the important role that pubs play in shaping the fabric of our communities.
