In this historic photograph, taken on August 17, 1930, at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan, aviation pioneers Orville Wright and Henry Ford stand proudly next to Griffith Brewer as they dedicate the Wright Homestead. The Wright Homestead, a replica of the Wright brothers' childhood home in Dayton, Ohio, was relocated and rebuilt at Greenfield Village as part of Henry Ford's quest to preserve American history. Orville Wright, wearing a suit and holding a microphone, addresses the crowd gathered for the dedication ceremony. Henry Ford, dressed in a simple work shirt and trousers, listens intently. Griffith Brewer, wearing a bowler hat and holding a cane, looks on with a smile. Behind them, a Wright Flyer III airplane, the same model that made the first long-distance flight in 1908, is on display.
