The Salon International de l'Aeronautique, or Paris Air Show, is a prestigious event in the aviation world, and this image showcases the Pilatus PC-6 Porter in all its glory as it proudly represented the latest innovations in aviation technology. At the time of this photograph, HB-FAZ was a relatively new addition to the Pilatus fleet, having been sold to Air Alpes on 19 July 1961. The Pilatus PC-6 Porter is a versatile, short-takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft, making it an ideal choice for mountainous regions and remote areas. Air Alpes, a Swiss airline specializing in mountain flights, was an excellent fit for this capable aircraft. Unfortunately, the history of HB-FAZ took a tragic turn.
