Godfrey Kneller, a renowned British painter, was born in Marburg, Germany, and is best known for his portraits of the English nobility during the Restoration period. His brother, Johann Zacharias, was also a painter, although his career did not achieve the same level of acclaim as Godfrey's. The brothers' portraits are depicted in an oval format, with Godfrey's portrait on the left and Johann's on the right. Both men are shown with curly hair and are dressed in the fashion of the time.
