The swift is depicted in mid-flight, clinging to the side of an old red brick building, with its distinctive curved wings outstretched and its long, slender body in motion. The Common Swift is a member of the Apodidae family, also known as the apodiformes or "without tails" birds, due to their lack of a tail.
