The image showcases an alley of dark brick houses, believed to have been built during the seventeenth century. Interestingly, this location holds significance in literature as it is where the Miss Steeles stayed upon their arrival in London in Jane Austen's novel Sense and Sensibility. The photograph captures the essence of daily life with pedestrians strolling along the narrow streets.
