Mountain Buzzard Mounted Print Collection

Mountain Buzzard (Accipitridae Accipitriformes) is a species of bird found in mountainous areas of Europe, Asia, and North America, and is a medium-sized raptor with a wingspan of around 1.2 meters and an average body length of about 45 cm. The plumage is mostly dark brown with white patches on the head, neck, and underparts. Its diet consists mainly of small mammals such as voles and mice as well as some insects and carrion. It hunts by soaring high above its prey before diving down to catch it in its talons. During the breeding season it builds nests in trees or on cliffs where it lays two to three eggs which are incubated by both parents for around 30 days before hatching, and are generally solitary birds but can be seen gathering together during migration or when food sources are abundant. They have adapted well to human presence in their habitats but their numbers have been declining due to habitat loss from deforestation and other human activities.
