Claire Vaughan (left) and Janine Buttle, partners since they were about four years old, entered six competitions last year, both solo and together, and scooped 25 trophies and 105 medals.
At a recent top competition in Stockport Janine, 10, of Honley, won the junior challenge tap section, which she had never entered before ? and Claire, nine, from Thurstonland, was runner-up in the junior challenge ballet.
Both attend the Audrey Spencer School of Dancing and are now working on a routine for a ballet duet. They will be facing stiff competition from many of the leading young dancers at a competition in Skegness at the end of the next month. 10th April 1986
