Captain beaky... the more-than-life-sized puffin swooped into the Childrens Bookshop at Lindley to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Puffin company, which publishes childrens books. A giant cake helped to mark the occasion, along with an appearance from Bob Wilson, who created the character Stanley Bagshaw. Children from nearby schools took part in the activities, and in true party style went home with a goodie bag. 10th June 1991
