This photograph is part of a batch showing work carried out by Laings Highways Branch during the construction of part of the Potteries D Road or Stoke D Road on the A500. A 6.5km stretch of dual carriageway running from near Talke to Etruria in Stoke-on-Trent was constructed by the company, with work starting in October 1970
