Dave Thomas, 35, from Ilford, found the front of a wrecked Volkswagen van and badly damaged VW microbus in a breakers yard and set about the enormous task of putting the two good pieces together to make a unique VW minibus. The finished product is a squashed but well made unit, which is 52" shorter than a regular VW. Dave believes it is the only one like it in Europe. 29th January 1981
