Salonica, a vibrant and culturally rich city, has a long and complex history. Founded in 315 BC, it has been ruled by various empires and powers throughout the centuries, including the Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans, and Greeks. The city's multicultural heritage is reflected in its diverse population, which has included Jews, Christians, Muslims, and other religious and ethnic groups.
