Plate 33: Rastrelliger kanagurta, or the Indian Mackerel, is depicted in this stunning Victorian-era illustration by Louis-Isidore Duperrey from his Zoologie Atlas, published in 1826 following his voyage on the Coquille from 1822 to 1825. The Indian Mackerel is a bony fish belonging to the Scombridae family, which also includes tuna and bonito.
